Group Facilitation Skills


Description
This is a 3-hours training delivered by Abacus.

Group facilitation is an acquired skill and involves leadership, role-modelling,
organisational skills and good sense of ethics and boundaries. There are a number of
things to consider in setting up and running a group, and the training will include learning
and discussion around these considerations.

Training content will include:
• Group benefits
• Group start-up considerations: size, membership, ‘rules’, structure, frequency etc
• Group purpose: ‘mission statement’, expectations and outcomes
• Ethical considerations: confidentiality, exceptions, boundaries, accountability
• Group roles
• Dealing with conflict
• Developmental stages of the group
• Change planning
